  • Siân Lloyd

Siân Lloyd was the national face of British weather for three decades. Her expertise in this field now sees her presenting global programmes on climate change and weather phenomena. She’s a skilled bilingual presenter, who’s fronted a whole host of programmes over the years, and regularly guested on most UK network shows, from Countdown and Loose Women, through to House of Games and Masterchef. Siân has also fronted current affairs documentaries on most of our major channels, including the BBC, ITV, Sky and CNN. As a keen writer, Sian has also contributed regular articles on travel and food for the likes of the Mail on Sunday, The Times and The Telegraph.

She received the Third Sector Excellence Award for her dedication to charity work, and remains an active supporter of many UK and international based charities.

“As someone who is passionate about food, this is a cause close to my heart. I love the common sense, positive approach Cegin y Bobl are using to do something that matters to us all.”

  • Tim Lang

Tim Lang is Professor Emeritus of Food Policy at the Centre for Food Policy at City St George’s, University of London. Hill farming in Lancashire in the 1970s formed his interest in policy tensions over food, health, environment, politics and culture which he’s worked on ever since. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. His latest book is Feeding Britain (Pelican pb 2021). He’s spent the last two years researching the state of UK civil food resilience for the National Preparedness Commission. Tim has agreed to be a Patron of Cegin y Bobl because he’s genuinely excited at the debate and experimentation that’s emerged in Wales. Cegin y Bobl and Welsh civil society organisations are getting on with building that civil food resilience.

I’m genuinely excited at the debate and experimentation that’s emerged in Wales. People are listening, developing and trying things that can apply widely. I’ve seen Welsh civil society organisations over recent years building that civil food resilience. People’s skills and energy are central to any meaningful effort for a good food future. Cegin y Bobl is setting out to do just that. Getting on with it”
